Goals | Consistency

Q. In order to reach fitness goals one must have a consistent approach… can you speak to the importance of a fitness schedule?
A. Preparation is the key to success. A successful plan is only accomplished when prepared. Setting a fitness schedule helps you to stay accountable and on track to meet your fitness goals.
There are several ways to set up and follow a "fitness schedule":
1. The time of day you train. Your body likes consistency and structure when it comes to a training schedule. It will adapt to your training program and help with recovery and build fitness levels.
2. Periodization of your training program. For example, increasing weight for a strength program over a 4 week period to test your 1RM (Rep Max). Then recover and build over 4 weeks again to increase strength. Or if you are training for an event that requires a build in volume (i.e., training for a triathlon, marathon, etc.). A training program needs to be planned out in advance so you can sync your training with your race/goal.
