Have you found your purpose?

What inspired me to write this blog, was listening to a personal development CD of a great friend of mine, Rex Crain. One of the best motivational speakers in the industry today. Rex was talking about finding your purpose in life and then acting on it. He references how most people live a mediocre life and seem to be ok with that.

I really think that’s sad. We were all put on this earth for a purpose. I don’t think mediocrity is part of the plan. We all have special talents and gifts, but I think the challenge that we are faced with is that we live life as creatures of habit. We get caught up in the day to day activities of life and are not capitalizing on our full potential as a parent, boss, employee, friend, spouse, brother, sister…

We sometimes forget what motivates and inspires us. What drives us to do better. We focus more on what we have to do than what we want to do.

About 5 years ago, I realized what my life’s purpose was on this earth. What an incredible feeling. Up to that point, I have had many life changing experiences, including the last 5 years, that pushed me closer to this realization. During that journey, I have had some amazing relationships that made me a stronger person. I have also had some incredibly unfortunate relationships that challenged me in ways that I never thought I would recover from. Thank you God for those relationships. I would not nearly have as many blessings in my life. I also want to personally THANK each of you, and you know who you are. You changed my life for the better.

I have never felt more confident doing what I am put on this earth to do.

I challenge you to evaluate your current situation and then ask yourself…Am I passionate about my life? Do I live each day to the fullest potential? Am I living for today, not letting the past dictate my daily decisions or worrying about what tomorrow brings.

Take the time to self-reflect and ask yourself if you’ve found your purpose in life. Congratulations if you have. If you are still trying to figure out your purpose then I encourage you to read “S.H.A.P.E. - Finding and Fulfilling Your Unique Purpose for Life, by Erik Rees“. This book will make you “life focused”.
